Hello! I've just ordered my new SSD (Samsung 850 evo 500gb), which should arrive next week. I was also planning to upgrade to Windows 10, with a fresh install on the new SSD, but because W10 launches on the 29/07 I either have to wait, for windows 10 to release or, (according to this http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/window...) upgrade to the preview version when my SSD comes and update from the preview straight to the full version of windows 10. Obviously the preview version is still not 100% finished but as we are so close to release there are unlikely to be any drastic changes. However would it be a bad idea doing this?

Thanks!

If you install the Tech Preview now, you do not have to do anything when it is actually released. The version installed on your PC will become the same as the actual release as part of the standard update.

However...
If you wish to continue using it, you must also remain part of the Insider Program. With all the weirdness that entails.
You get updates and changes when they push them, stuff like that. Just like the Tech Preview.

If you want to opt out of the Insider Program, then you either have to revert to a previous Win 7 or 8, Upgrade an existing 7 or 8, or purchase Windows 10.

So, would you recommend, just waiting until 29/07 for the release version of Windows 10, instead of installing my ssd +preview now and then going through the hassle of rolling back to windows 8 and upgrading to W10 on the 29th?
