Upgrading to Windows 10 on a CLEAN Windows 7 install..

So I'm giving this another shot.
Last time I tried this I was overflood with window updates and it would just stop installing them at the end, ending up with me installing a trial of Windows 10 until I had the energy to try again.

I have activated my Windows 7 and I have not touched Windows update at all.
Is there someone out there that would like to help me do this correctly?

If there is anything more you to need to know, just let me know!
I really appreciate all the help I can get.

Well you need to get your windows 7 install updated all the way. Windows 10 will not install on an out of date install.

Is there a way to prevent all the houndred of updates trying to install at the same time? Because it really messed up my system last time..

just go to windows update and do it manually, "show all available" I believe. You choose the patches to install one by one that way, windows should have some auto checked in that view.

Or you could download the windows 10 iso that you need example windows 7 home you get win 10 home 64 bit you get 64 bit then make sure windows 7 is installed and activated... then run the iso....

still have to update windows 7 or 8 all the way. The ISO is only doing an upgrade not a clean install, unless you have a windows 10 key.

I wish I had known this.. I ended up buying a Win10 copy because I was tired of the Windows update nightmare.
