Hello. I currently have an HDD, on which I have Windows 7 installed, but about a year ago I bought a Samsung EVO 850. I heard that I needed to delete everything on my HDD in order to move the OS install to the SSD so I just didn't bother, since I did not want to download again 800 GB of games and other stuff. So now I'm wondering if it is possible to upgrade to Windows 10 using the HDD's Win 7 install, BUT install it to my SSD without doing a completely clean install/ lose my files. Thanks.

Samsung has a free ssd migration tool.
It will copy your "C" drive to the ssd.
In the event that the entire "C" drive will not fit, you can omit selected data folders from the copy.
Such folders will be available to you when you access the hard drive later.

If your games are steam games, I think there is a migration procedure; google will help you there.

Later, if you wish, you can upgrade to windows 10 in place if you wish.
Me, I have no compelling reason to switch to 10.
