Upgrading to Windows 8

Is it worth upgrading to Windows 8 from Windows 7, from a gaming point of view. I prefer the format of Win7

You can get the Windows 7 UI in 8. You can't get Windows 8 performance in 7.

Personally, I see no reason not to get 8 over 7.

8 will be supported longer. This means that all the newest hardware and configurations will be supported longer than 7.
8 is faster than 7.
8 is more secure than 7.
