upgrading to winXP

I was just wondering wheather there are any disadvantages to upgrade from win2k to winXP. In the past I understood that there were some advantages to using the full version, as opposed to the upgrade.

WinXP will not have any Java support, so if you will want to see all the cool stuff on the web, you will have to install it yourself. That is the one of the "disadvantages".
