Hi, my PC is currently running windows 7 ultimate 32bit, I wanted to upgrade it to 64bit using a USB, but when launching the setup.exe file, it says it requires a 64bit environment to run.. So I grabbed an old hard drive and install windows 7 64bit on it, and I was wondering of there is any way to upgrade my main drive through the old drive, maybe by launching setup.exe from the old drive and selecting "Upgrade" in the setup screen? considering im a complete noob when it comes to OS installs, I came here to ask you how to upgrade my main drive without deleting it? please ask questions if you need more info

Thanks
-Steve

You can't upgrade 32 bit to 64 bit you need to do a clean setup.

Install that new hard drive into your system and run the Windows setup on that. You will need to copy your files back to the system from your original hard drive and will need to re-install your programs.
