Have an aging but respectable Q9650 - will be OCing it. Upgrading my youngsters gaming PC. Adding an SSD and video card, Ocing the CPU upgrading CPU cooler. (If I wanted to spend several hundred more I could get another system etc, but not interested right now.) I'm interested in pushing the 775 system as hard as I can on a budget of $200 video card. If I burn something up..well time to build a new one with an OC'd i5 or something...till then. These seem like the best contenders for the price. Suggestions? Have a 500W PSU Bronze - I hear Radeon can draw a bit hard on 500w systems...should I be concerned? Thanks if advance.

What specific power supply do you have? The r9 280 is at least a step or two up from the GTX 750ti. But it will take more power. I thnk that the 750ti can even run on as little as 300 watts.

If you were going to look at a power supply, one that is good on a budget in my opinion is this one.

Evga 600b. I have one, think I paid 69.99 when I got one at best buy a while back, so the price is good, and it is 49 amps on a single 12v+ rail if memory serves. I'm running an FX 8120 OC to 4.2ghz, 256gb ssd, 640gb hard drive, 8 gb ram, optical drive, and a radeon 7950. So far very stable and it's over a year old.
