i recently purchased more ram in my computer so now i have to upgrade my whole OS. I also have no idea where are all of my driver disks. Could i just upgrade it like this or do i must find the CDs?

Solution

There is no 'upgrade'. You must do a clean install, wiping out whatever is on that disk or partition.
Of course, this includes the drivers.

Before you start, go to the manufacturers websites and download the relevant drivers for all your hardware.
Save this to a USB stick or DVD.

After the OS install, install the drivers from your USB.
