Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my CPU mainly and I definately want to go with Intel. I was thinking of upgrading to an Intel i5 6600k and getting a MSI Z170A GAMING PRO Socket LGA 1151 DVI HDMI 8-channel Audio Motherboard. I am also considering a SSD to put my OS on and maybe some games I frequently play. Is this a good idea or are there better options for me?
I use this PC for gaming primarily and I play games like GTA V, CS:GO, Battlefield 4 and probably more. I achieve around 40fps to 50fps in normal/busy but 60 - 70 in low traffic area locations on GTA and around 120 - 200fps on cs;go on dust 2 on max settings (I used to get around 270 but after a little incident with OCing it doesnt perform aswell for some reason) - thats for anyone who knows anything about CS. My immediate budget is sort of uncapped but dont do crazy with some £700 CPU suggestion please, keep it affordable but also powerful.
I would also look at getting 16GB of DDR4 RAM and possably a new case to help with cooling, feel free to suggest a case but if you do here is what I'm looking for:
Looks nice
Cools well
Has lighting or light kit
Has a window
Has things that will help me with keeping cable looking tidy and clean
(Was thinking of something like this - Phanteks Enthoo Luxe White)
I currently have this as my current build:
Graphics Card: Gigabyte GTX 970 Winddforce 3x (the one with 3 fans)
PSU: 650W ZS 80+ PSU
Motherboard: 990FX Extreme3 AM3+ AMD 990FX DDR3 ATX
Processor: FX6-6300 AM3+ 3.5GHz 14MB 95W
Hard Drive (not sure if this is useful or not) : 1TB Black 3.5" SATA6GB/S 7200rpm 64MB
RAM: 8GB DDR3
Also I'm running on Windows 10 but when I swap to Intel I may swap to Mac OSX as I prefer it to windows.
Any reply is greatly appreciated and thank you in advance!
