Hello guys, first post here. Disclaimer: I am no IT or Networking pro.
The history: I have a 30mbps V-DSL connection at my home which currently gives me 5mb upload speed. I am considering to get another 30mbps line for the phone, and use a Mikrotik router to merge both of these lines together.
The question: When the two lines are merged, will it actually double my bandwidth for downloads and uploads? My main purpose is to increase upload speeds, because I am in the process of backing up a huge amount of data onto Dropbox (several terabytes). I am not sure how Mikrotik handles sessions when merging two lines, so I just wanted to make sure whether my purpose would be achieved before i dish out about 20,000 PKR for this new setup. Someone told me that Dropbox won't be able to utilize the merged speeds because the two WANs would be serving two different IP addresses.
If any here has experience of this sort of setup, I would love t o hear from you.
TL;DR: If I merge two WANs using Mikrotik, will I be able to use double the upload speed for Dropbox?
