no info on HP.s website... they erase everything over 10 years old.... shame on them...

anywayz. your amd dual core CPU is not gonna work well now a days... you really want 4core/threads now adays minimum.

as everyone has said your better off just buying new/building new/ or getting something used a couple years old.

even tried to look up your motherboards AM2 form factor and pcpricepicker wensite wouldn't even list it....ok they list 3 boards.. but out of stock... and when you go try to find a CPU you can't buy anything anywhere. 8D

You won't be able to run any recent games on the HP Pavilion a6000. You'd have to replace the motherboard, RAM, CPU, GPU, case, power supply. You can probably keep the hard drive, though.

I'd suggest starting with an R3 1200/ G4560 for the CPU. If you choose the R3 1200, then you'll need an A320 or B350 motherboard. If you choose the G4560, then you'll need a B250 motherboard. Find 8 GB DDR4 RAM, a bronze rated 400-500 W power supply, and optionally a dedicated graphics card. One thing to keep in mind is that the G4560 has an integrated GPU, which might even be enough depending on the games that you want to play.

this is just an example of the cheapest way to go for a new build......... not that you should do it. you go without a graphics card....and there is no operating system in that build either... to be honest i really have no clue what you can do with that onbaord only graphics unit.. legacy older games.....

Sure looks like MATX to me, did you search for OP's model?

Good start but not optimized. I love the G4560 myself, and it is great at MSRP $64... at $90 just get the G4600 that has 100 MHz more and a better IGP HD630 vs HD610 and save $3

H110 is capable of running 7th gen, but most likely you will need it flashed before G4560 or G4600 can run. Some shops charge $20 so you add that to the H110 you might be better off with a B250 board that runs out of the box.

7th gen also uses 2400 DDR4. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/4CyxFT/crucial-memory-bls8g4d240fsb $68
