UPS and my PC .

basic question.how reliable are these things.do they cause PCs to short or blow out parts.
just scared of it doing more harm than good.

Best thing about using a UPS is the power leveling... I use one on my main system. Just for the power conditioning.

about blowing out parts thta only happens when you connect a large power draw to a small ups and expect the batterys of the small usp to keep it up. as long as you size the unit up to your pc. you be fine. just remember most of these small ups are made to keep you pc up for a few min so that it can shut down before you lose any of your data in a power loss. the other plus is if there a spike to your home power the ups will die not the pc.
