Hi,

I am using a Lenovo G500s and the battery only lasts an hour. I usually work from home, so need to be online during power cuts. Power cuts lasts from 5 mins to an hour. So instead of buying a full blown Inverter and battery, I'm thinking of a UPS that provides backup for upto 2 hours. I only need the laptop and router to be on during power cuts. So, please advice me on what options do I have?

You can buy APC BR1000G-IN 1KVA UPS if your budget is around 10k INR.

If you only power your laptop and router then I guess you will get about 2 or 2.5 hours of backup.

I use the same UPS for my Desktop PC and Router and I get about 80 minutes of backup.
Backup will depend on how much power is being drawn. For example a 450W system running on a 600VA might be able to get 10 minutes of battery backup or a 600W system for a few minutes. mind you, you will also need to keep in mind that due to the laws of physics not all that you input is outputted.

600VA UPS's have an output capacity of half or a little more.

Now, you didn't mention a preferred site...you also didn't mention the make and model of your outer.

I'm ready to buy on any reputed site in India like flipkart or amazon or offline in shops. Also my router is a TP Link WR740N.
