I am wanting to put my networking panel and equipment on a UPS. This way all my equipment is protected against power surge, and it will allow my network and more importantly my security cameras to operate for hopefully 30+ minutes after power has been cut.
My equipment includes:
1 router, 1 modem, 2 typical unmanaged gigabit trendnet 8 port switches, and 1 4port POE switch (tp-link) powering 3 Huacam IP cameras.
All of these devices get power from the same line power wire going into my structured media enclosure.
My question is if a 1500va UPS would be my best route to take or if thee was a better option for around the same cost? Naturally I realize I will need to modify the power wiring for my enclosure to allow the UPS to sit between it and the breaker box.
