UPS Monitoring in Win2k restarts not shutdown

I have just installed a BackUPS by APC on my win2k
machine, and i ran a couple test on it. One thing that is
very strange is that when the Critical Battery point is
reached (where the computer MUST shut down to preserve
health because power is about to stop) the computer enters
a restart cycle rather than a shut down cycle. This
basically means that when the UPS tells the computer that
it is about to run out of power, and the computer restarts
it loses power some time after half way into the new boot
process.
Is this a common problem? Please help in any way possible.
Thank you,

Zazoo.

I too have an APC 500VA unit on my win2k box.
In the power control settings, ive got my APC to enter hibernate mode when i reach 50% battery power.

Try changing the shutdown state to hibernate and see if it works.
(Hibernate is extra good as you dont loose all your applications that you had up. It saves the current system state to hard drive)

hope this helps.
