I currently have an APC Back-UPS 1100VA (specifically, BX1100L-MS) and I was wondering if it's safe to place it in the desk? Specifically near the monitor or PC? Or should I just put it under the desk?

Additionally, how can I check compatible batteries for my UPS? I'm planning to buy a CSB Battery but get really confused on the variants. On my online shopping cart, I have these:
  • CSB UPS Battery 12 Volts Rechargeable 12V 34W HRL1234W F2
  • CSB BATTERY UPS 12360 7 F2 12V 360W
Finding a battery supplier from APC/Schneider Electric wasn't a help at all (in my country) so I'm resorting in buying CSB batteries.

Solution
First, do not interfere with airflow in and around the UPS. It will overheat.

Second, it is extremely important if you are going to use other than the OEM battery in your UPS that you match the specs on that battery EXACTLY. "Close enough" doesn't cut it here. Those specs will be on a label on the battery.
