Ups-power surge question

I have power surges in my area recently caused by various conditions and because my house runs through one circuit, my pc went fried last weekend and i was wondering if a ups (uninterruptable power supply) would protect my computer and other electrical devices, like when my refrigderator causes a power surge in my circuit.

Yes a good UPS will absorb such things. Even a really good surge protector would as well.

I'm thinking about this ups CyberPower CP900EPFCLCD for a 550 psu and a 22" tv will it protect me from a refrdgerator power surge?
