UPS what does 600 jouls mean ?

Solution
Energy absorption/dissipation - This rating, given in joules, tells you how much energy the surge protector can absorb before it fails. A higher number indicates greater protection. Look for a protector that is at least rated at 200 to 400 joules. For better protection, look for a rating of 600 joules or more. So that is 600 watts per second.

thanks
so that UPS has a good spike protection right ?

Kind of a side note, but no, joules does not mean watts per second. Watts are joules per second.
Joule = energy. Watt = power, AKA energy per unit time.
I don't know of any unit or measurement in watts per second.
