Upstairs Pc Crashes Internet

I have my hub downstairs that is connected to my Dads PC. I have the job connected to a TP Link Ethernet plug that is connected (through the mains) to my PC upstairs where I run an Ethernet cable from the other TP Link plug into my PC. Whenever I turn on my PC, the broadband will crash every 5-10 mins, this only ever happens when my PC is on. No other device causes this to happen and when my PC is off, everything works fine. It’s really starting to wear thin. Any suggestions? Sometimes my power line light goes red and sometimes it goes green. Don’t see how this can attribute to crashing the whole internet though.

Bad cable, bad port on the router or an issue with the network card can cause this.
