I need help urgently, I need to have access to my desktop tonight

Went and purchased the new parts and pieces for a new build
i9 12900K
Asus ROG Z790
4080

Put the build together in my old case, went smoothly, but when I went to boot for first time for stuck with error code 53 - some ram issue. No matter the configuration of sticks I tried I got this every time. Couldn’t even get to BIOS, just a black screen but all components and HDDs running and spinning.

After a couple hours of troubleshooting I decided to put the old components back in - i9 9900K, Asus ROG Z390, with the 4080 (been running this for a month now) and the same thing happened, all components and HDD running and spinning, but the yellow ram light is on. DDR5 with the new build, 4 with the old one

what am I missing? Have torn this apart completely now twice. Worked great at noon today, now it’s a dead system. Any help or insight needed ASAP

On the Asus ROG Z390 reset the BIOS by removing the CMOS battery for 5 minutes.
Make sure the power cord is unplugged and the PSU is powered off before removing te battery.
Also before removing the battery, press the power button several time to discharge power left on capacitors.

Make sure just t the basic components are connected and double check that all power cables and all components are properly seated.

Done that a few times, no luck

If the RAM light is on on all configurations on all slots, then it could be related to the CPU or CPU socket.
CPU seldom failed, so I think the CPU is not properly installed or the socket has an issue (e.g. bent pin).

I just noticed taking the CPU out 5-6 pins are bent. Worth trying to bend back on my own or return for replacement?

I have tried several times and it is a 50/50 chance..
Be very careful, since those pins are fragile. I have been successful a couple of times with a piece of an index card and a lot of patience. Plastic and metal tools could break them easily.

If you can return it for replacement, you might want to consider so, but some manufacturers might charge you if they deem you responsible for the damage.
