Furthermore if I try to plug the hard Drive in again the PC boots but there is a strange grey screen with an orange line through it . I was trying to replace my old hard drive which became corrupted and I could no longer use it, the CHKDSK tool tool backspace delet I was trying to replace my old hard drive which became corrupted and I could no longer use it, the CHKDSK tool was going at a rate of 1% every two days .

when you installed windows was there both drives installed?
windows has a nasty habit of loading the boot partition on other drives to save space on the main. the result is if you take out the drive with the needed boot files the system cannot boot, even though windows is technically on another drive, the needed boot files are not.

tip: always install windows with JUST the main drive installed to prevent this. connect drives after install and updates to the OS are complete.
