DVD Drive = None
PSU = ATX switching 400w having 15 amps on +12 rail
PSU i need help with is = 300 ( there is one with 350 watts) both having 25 amps on +12 rail.
i wanna know is it enough for my specs??i cant buy any other PSU cz its hard getting an 20 +8 pin power supply here. i dont wanna buy online.
the card gives greens horizontal lines from bios to windows startup and so on with my current PSU and also drivers not responding with latest drivers.

BUT

i gave the card to my friend who has 1200w PSU and the card works fine.
now i know its the PSU problem . plz help me whether or not will the 300 or 350 watts supply with 25 amps on +12v rail run all my specs??
also plz tell me how much power will all my specs draw totally and individually.individually. Thank you All ...

Hi.

If the PSU does what it says and delivers 12V at 25A and the temperatures you have, then you will get the 300W you want. 12 x 25 = 300. Cheap PSUs are often tested at 25C and deliver less power at 35C (a very likely temperature inside a case in a hot climate).

Most modern PSUs are capable of delivering almost all of their Wattage on the 12V rail. That's where the power needs to be. Older PSUs often deliver a lot on the 3V and 5V rails because that's what older computers needed. Your old 400W PSU was an example. It delivers only 180W of its supposed 400 on the 12V rail. The rest is probably on 3V or 5V where it is not use to you today.

The 250 is a low power use GPU at about 65W, so that and the rest of your system will run on a good PSU that delivers 300W on the 12V rail, your whole system will not draw over 200W.

Without you telling me specific brands or what the specifications on the box say about power delivery, all this advice is general.

That 350W PSU is another example of an older model with lots of power on rails you do not need. It looks like it is used. The older PSUs get, the less likely that they are to reach specification, especially when they are older, suspect models to start with.

Giving you good advice is hard when I don't understand your circumstances. I would not buy that PSU or recommend it to others, but if it is your only choice, it is better than nothing and better than what you have. It lacks a PCI-e power connector so you will not be able to upgrade your GPU past a 65W 250 or the equivalent NVidia GTX750ti.

thanx for the reply but right now i just want to use this card and nothing else. i will ofcourse change it and the PSU to crossair vs one as soon i save enough uknow...
so will i be able to play with this psu and specs untill then??
