Question URGENT - How to unlock iPod without an Apple ID password or phone number?

I recently got this iPod from a friend and we have been trying for ages to get it un-disabled, today was the day we did that. Only problem now is that we can't get past the activation lock. We have the Apple ID, but not the password, and when we try to reset the password on Apple's support page it requires a phone number for it which we don't have. So how can we bypass this, if at all?
