Hi all,
I just purchased my PC yesterday, and downloaded BF4 for a test run. Started up the multiplayer, and after less than a minute, the game crashed to desktop. I asssumed it was the bad net code, but a popup appeared in the bottom right hand corner of the screen:

I rebooted the game, same error message.
I changed my drivers, same error message.
I updated my bios, same error message.
I swore very loudly, same error message.

My (basic) specs are:
CPU: i7 4770k
GPU: Evga GTX 780 Ti SC ACX
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB
PSU: Corsair AX760

I can provide more detailed specs if needed.

Should I try reinstalling the game? It's a 30GB download and I have abysmal internet.

Many thanks for any responses,
Phaydze

There is a big chance it's battlefield itself doing something wrong. Do you experience issues in other games or in the desktop area? You should check out the bf4 forum, you'll see there are many many people facing issues with this game while their hardware runs just fine. I would not worry too much if this only appears in bf4, because it's a broken game.

My suggestion: try running other games and see what happens

Cheers

Joni

Okay, now I'm getting kind of worried. After loading up Sleeping Dogs, I could play the opening sequence, which shortly after, crashed with the error message "hkship.exe has stopped working". I then loaded up Far Cry 3, which first proceeded to crash my whole computer, and after loading up again, crashed to my desktop twice. I've spent nearly £2000 entirely on this computer, I'm starting to sweat. Help!

Ok this ain't' normal indeed.
For the sleeping dogs problem try this:
1. Download and install latest DirectX 11
2. Download and install Your latest Video card driver
3. Open My computer – Properties – Advanced system settings – select Advanced tab ( Performance – Settings ) – Data execution prevention – Turn on DEP – Add. ( pointing to HKShip.exe file at Sleepingdogs folder ). Close all the dialog boxs and then Restart computer.

far cry problem is really weird.
Do you have all the latest patches installed for all your games? or steam?

It's most certainly a problem with my GPU. It happens in nearly all of my games, even when I run the fans @ 100%. I've tried everything under the sun. My last choice is a full wipe of my HDD and reinstall Windows, but I really don't want to do that, I don't think It'll help and it's a bitch to sort out. All of my games are on Steam and all fully patched. Perhaps it's a problem with my MOBO or RAM? I don't know. I've been monitoring my GPU and CPU temps and they're staying well under 50 degrees Celsius. If anyone could provide ANY or insight, it could be of great help.
Thanks.

I think it could be that you're gpu is broken, but you probably figured that out yet. Don't do that windows reinstall, that won't help a bit. Is it a computer you build yourself?

It's clearly something hardware related. Problem is it could be anything. It could be a faulty video card. Do you have any other components lying around? Like a psu or a old video card or so? Try replacing some parts and see what happens.
