970s in SLI will do fine at everything maxed at 1440P. If you're gonna go SLi and want Corsair power, then please make sure you're buying EITHER, The newest RM850 that was recently revised (The one that works properly), the HX1000i or the AX 860 / 860i. Anything below them, don't buy.
Please post some evidence that would suggest this to be true.
OP, Corsairs heirarchy of psu quality is as follows (poor quality to great quality)...
VS, CK, CS, RM, HX/i, AX/i.

Youll likely find TX series on amazon, etc. The RM series is the TX replacement.

80fps average in modern titles isn't convincing enough?

970 sli is a beast gpu setup. Fps isnt in question. The comment about only thise specific psu's being good enough is what im contradicting. Any rm, hx, hxi, ax or axi 850w or more will work. Personally, i wouldnt go rm series, as its basically rebadged tx series.

I wouldn't buy any Corsair PSU because there are so many nice alternatives. Well, maybe I would've gone for their Titanium-rated model if I needed a very powerful PSU.

Most quality name brand models are made by seasonic/superflower/cwt/enermax anyway.
OP, whatever you choose for a psu, remember in the case of psu's, cost most definitely reflects quality. Dont expect to get a killer 850w psu for 60 bucks. This is a component that "you get what you pay for" couldnt be more true.
Maybe go a bit bigger wattage if you plan on waterblocking your sli setup in the future, or if youre gonna add lights and drives, etc. If youre gonna stay air cooled on the cards, the other posters suggestion of 850w is good.
Speaking to the question of which graphics card setup....check this out.

Seasonic, yes, I know. Mine has KM3 Seasonic platform inside. I just don't like Corsair prices.
