hi guys

someone is selling their used gaming PC with an i7-4770 CPU however, it has the LGA 1150 socket and I am only familiar with the 1151 socket. My current PC has an i5-4440 processor with an LGA 1151 socket. But again, it comes down to the awesome specs of the used pc that have me interested.

Is there anything I should know before purchasing this LGA 1150 socket i7 and of course the motherboard would be an 1150 socket type as well.

any help is appreciated in the next 15 minutes as I'm supposed to meet him to purchase it.

thank you!

*AND WILL I HAVE ANY ROOM FOR PROCESSOR UPGRADES IN THE NEAR FUTURE WHEN I HAVE SOME $...?

lga 1150 is the normal socket for that generation of cpu, but intel's backwards compatible thing enables you to use the i5 4th gen with a lga 1151 mobo.

Thank you for your reply, I'm not quite understanding what you mean? Are you saying there is a way to run an LGA 1150 with an LGA 1151 processor? Or do you mean you can run an LGA 1151 with an LGA 1150?
