Hey guys!

So I gave my mate my GTX 670 to upgrade his machine. He was running a ATI Radeon HD 5770. So not a massive upgrade, but a considerable one.

He started by cleaning his machine (as it was dusty as fek), and since putting it in he's getting no signal on his monitor among other problems!

This is the specs i believe are of interest.

MOBO: Gigabyte GA-X79-UD3
PSU: Cooler master 700w
RAM: 16GB

Putting in the new card, the system continually reboots itself with no signal to the monitor.

Putting in his old card, the system is 'stable' (i guess), yet he gets no signal to his monitor.

And he has no 'on-board graphics', so there goes that option.. The new card asks for a minimum of 500w - he should be fine in that regards too.

Sorry if i posted this in the wrong section.

Thanks heaps guys <3

Have you tried to remove the little battery from the Motherboard (and then plugging it back in)? Sometimes a "reset" done that way solves stupid issues, it may sound ridiculous but I once fixed my computer like that. It's worth the try.
Good luck!
i wasn't actually present for the cleaning.

But I was told they cleaned it and changed the components on the carpet floor... ugh.

They cleaned it with a brush of sort. I'm trying to get what type of brush now.

And i believe they did nothing but replaced the GPU.

well I'm wondering if they pulled the motherboard out, cpu and heat sink off, ram out. if they did any of that you need to check that ram is installed correctly, cpu is installed correctly. even if they didn't its posiable they knocked one of them slightly loose and that can lead to issues. A vacuum cleaner it would be easy to do that.

Apparently they've already checked that all the components are installed correctly.. 🙁

Could it be a PSU issue? Because my mates dad knows a bit about computers and has put it down to that. I disagree based on what i know about tech (I'm no noob, but i'm no expert).

I feel like it might be a motherboard issue, or driver issue? 🙁 IDK?!

Thanks for the help guys.. let's keep trying!

Hey! Thanks for the continued support.

I guess you're right.. drivers are ruled out.

We'll try to remove the battery as soon as we can. Thanks for the suggestion dude :)
