So, I got a new smartphone (Samsung Galaxy J3 2016) to replace my old one (Microsoft Lumia 535), but my father used it first and it all worked well, until I changed SIM's with him and I can't use the Wi-Fi, it says that it is connected but I can't access apps that require internet, or the internet itself, I try with my mobile data and everything works fine, no problems. Then I disable mobile data to utilise the Wi-Fi to not spend the mobile data and it connects, but I have no internet.

Any help is appreciated.

What's odd is you are able to use the wifi before the sim card switch, but now only data will work. That shouldn't interfere with the wifi connection. Try taking it to your cellphone provider and see if they can replace it for you. They should do this for free. If that doesn't work, try a factory data reset on the device to see if that takes care of it. If not, sounds like the wifi adapter died on the phone, and may need a new one.

Do you know if any other devices on the network are able to work with the wifi? It could be your wifi network as well.
