Hi,

I really need some help, a week ago my windows 7 ultimate crashed in the starting screen showing the dam blue screen and warning me that windows couldn't start. I went to the self repair tool.
It tool like 4 hours to fix the issue. Then it said, that windows will start normally after that. What a lie. After the starting screen I got the black screen, just with the mouse.
I tried everything I know, scanning the disk surface with other computer, I used the windows 7 installation CD. And that told me it couldn't find any issue starting windows.
What can I try now? This happens even when I boot normally or in any safe mode.

Please help I need to decrypt my files. I lost the flash memory where I backed up the encryption key. And the only copy that I found is in an encrypted folder (***!). I seems that my only chance to recover my info is by login as administrator, but I never reach the login window even after 4 hours waiting in the black screen, just with the mouse. I have a 6.6 experience index, that couldn't take so long...

Yeah! I had tried that too, but not reinstalling my OS, because I will loose permanently the access to my encrypted files. They were encrypted by windows 7 encryption tool (the one included with the OS). I saved the pfx in two copies, but unintentionally I moved my second copy into a encrypted folder. The other copy was stolen inside with my flash memory.

Hum ok. You're right. It's not a good idea to reinstall the OS. 😀

Did you try to analyse the BSOD ? You can use this freeware : http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html (and you can find log files in C:\Windows\Minidump).
If you use a Windows' live CD, you can use the portable version (just have to unzip it on a USB key).
