URU: How to remove hardhat?

Hello all,

I was in an open room (no roof) where there are lots of books about kings
and such. I click on a hard hat that was on a table and now my avitar is
wearing it. I can't seem to remove it now. I know this next sentence is
really out of place for a Myst type game. But, the hat doesn't match my
avitar's outfit! I don't want the hardhat anymore.

Any info will be appreciated.

BTW, I am really enjoying the game eventhough I've been playing it off
and on for a year now and haven't finished it yet.

Thanks,
Steven

OK, I guess I did not look in the wardrobe closet good enough. The hat is
gone!

Thanks,
Steven

It only SEEMS like you've been playing it for a year. It's only been out for
six months.

I have the reverse problem in To D'ni. At the end of URU, Yeesha gives me a
dorky-looking outfit with a hand symbol on it. Having got rid of it at the
first chance as I don't want my charcter to look like a jerk, I have found
out there is a big easter egg at the end of TD, but I have to wear this
stupid outfit to access it. How do I get it back?

It should be in your closet. You may have to scroll to see it. I didn't
notice the scroll button at first either.

Go to your wardrobe at Relto and take it off by chosing the face
option. Pick your face without a hat and exit the wardrobe. The
hardhat will stay in the closet and you can wear it later when you get
a matching outfit.

Actually, it was the hair options, not the face options. BTW, I found a
nice and very colorful shirt in another age that was very challenging to
get to. I won't spoil it by saying where. :)

Thanks,
Steven

TEASE! I want more info! Was it in a place where you'd logically
find a shirt lying around? Or is it hiding behind a pile of rocks?
At least mention which age it's in. 😛

Personally, I'm hoping some industrious hackers are hard at work
trying to find the texture and bump maps for the clothing so players
can start adding their own clothing, even if it's only T-Shirts with
custom designs. But imagine the possibilities... wandering around the
ages in a parka, or an Edwardian suit with cloak, or stormtrooper
armor... (Of course, then there will also be people who will end up
creating a Nude Raider patch as well...)

After I downloaded the first expansion pack, I looked through the
"closet" and quickly switched into khaki pants, leather jacket and
fedora-like hat. (Seemed apropriate since we now have to jump in
order to get through levels.)

I was very pleased to see that the colored hard hats could not only be
picked up in a level, but also saved in the closet afterwards.

Ok, the hair. Close enough. :) If that shirt is the tie-dye shirt I
did find it in Uru live, but I haven't checked to see if I still have
it with the expansion pack because I haven't had enough time to really
explore it yet. I only discovered how to change it's colors the day
before Uru live ended.

Did you know there's another shirt to find, besides that one? I won't
spoil that for you if you haven't found it yet.

OK, the shirt is is on top of a stack of boxes in a very high room. :)

Yes, that is it and, yes, I have installed the D'Ni expansion pack. I
only visited URU Live twice only for a few minute each time. I couldn't
figure out how to use the KI to talk so I couldn't respond to anyone that
messaged me.

Oooo, I got to find that!

Thanks,

Ah! That's more LIKE it! :)

I did the unthinkable this past weekend. I let my wife take the PC
(with Uru on it) to her photo studio to become a print server. Now,
in exchange I got an even nicer new one. But I just realized while
replying to this message that I'm gonna have to reinstall the add-on
pack, and re-do all the stuff I've done up till now.

I'll keep my eye out for tall stacks of boxes this time...

AHA! Found it! Got a new computer recently, and reinstalled both Uru
and the first expansion pack, and started re-playing the game.

When I first spotted it, I thought it was tie-dye... probably because
I'd just watched the Survivor All Stars finale, and one of the more
popular guys on the show wears tie-dye so much that he had fans in the
audience dressed similarly.

But once I got back to Relto, and went to the editor, I got a better
look. Very cool.
