Question Usable memory far less than installed

Hello Sir. I have HP notebook 15-ba042au. The RAM was 4GB which I got it increased to 8 GB. System shows installed RAM as 8 GB but usable RAM only 3.45 GB. I have tried msconfig settings and windows are reset twice too but result is same. Additional RAM installed is Simmtronics 4GB RAM DDR3 1600 (L) SO- DIMM

Please help ne in rectifying the problem

You apparently have a 32 bit version of Windows installed.
You'll need to backup your important files and install a 64bit version of windows to access all 8gb. There is no upgrade path to go from 32 bit to 64 versions unfortunately.

What version of operating system do you have ? Windows 7 32bit perhaps?
The HP page shows that device shipped with FreeDOS 1.2.

Please double check.
In Wn10 bring up File Explorer , Right click This PC, and select Properties.
The bit type is near the top, in the System section.

In Win7, Click the Start button, right click on My Computer, and then select properties.
