So i'm pretty new to this site but i just built my first gaming computer which has a Ryzen 3 2200g in it and when i checked my computer properties it says i'm only able to use 5.93gb's of ram when i have 8gb's of Patriot ram. I checked the motherboard (its up to date) which is a Asrock B450M HDV R4.0 and i also downloaded all the drivers for the 2200g. So is there any fix for this because i've tried almost everything now except for reinstalling windows again and messing around with the bios because I don't know much about what to do in there. So i'm kinda stumped right now maybe i didn't download every single driver i need? If anyone could help me out that'd be a great help!

Lets' start by making sure you've installed the memory in the correct slots. They SHOULD be installed in the A2 and B2 slots, which are the second and fourth slots over from the CPU going left to right towards the edge of the motherboard. If they are not in those slots, they need to be moved TO those slots, and then do a hard reset of the BIOS.

Doing a hard reset of the BIOS, AFTER making sure you have the MOST recent BIOS version installed, would be a good idea anyhow even if you DO have them installed in the correct slots.

BIOS Hard Reset procedure

Power off the unit, switch the PSU off and unplug the PSU cord from either the wall or the power supply.

BIOS Hard Reset procedure

Power off the unit, switch the PSU off and unplug the PSU cord from either the wall or the power supply.

Remove the motherboard CMOS battery for five minutes. In some cases it may be necessary to remove the graphics card to access the CMOS battery.

During that five minutes, press the power button on the case for 30 seconds. After the five minutes is up, reinstall the CMOS battery making sure to insert it with the correct side up just as it came out.

If you had to remove the graphics card you can now reinstall it, but remember to reconnect your power cables if there were any attached to it as well as your display cable.

Now, plug the power supply cable back in, switch the PSU back on and power up the system. It should display the POST screen and the options to enter CMOS/BIOS setup. Enter the bios setup program and reconfigure the boot settings for either the Windows boot manager or for legacy systems, the drive your OS is installed on if necessary.

Save settings and exit. If the system will POST and boot then you can move forward from there including going back into the bios and configuring any other custom settings you may need to configure such as Memory XMP profile settings, custom fan profile settings or other specific settings you may have previously had configured that were wiped out by resetting the CMOS.

In some cases it may be necessary when you go into the BIOS after a reset, to load the Optimal default or Default values and then save settings, to actually get the hardware tables to reset in the boot manager.

Can you make a screenshot of where you see this? Either via "print screen" or use the "windows clipping tool",start with this at the lefthand top of what you want to clip and work your way down and then to the right .

You can use Imgur to post a picture here, use the "img" link.
Click "new post" ->choose "upload images" -> "browse" ->choose the picture and click "open" ->put cursor on the picture that you uploaded->choose "share links" and copy the img link, paste it in your next post.
