Usage drops on external GPU (1050 Ti + EXP GDC 8.4d)

I'm trying to make a SSF desktop using a Gigabyte BRIX Pro (4770R) and a Gigabyte 1050 Ti LP going through the mPCIe-port (with an EXP GDC 8.4d).

At first, it seemed to work nicely i games: only 10-20% fps drop compared to x16 PCIe. After a few minutes however, GPU usage dropped from 90-100% to 40-60%, and so dipped the fps.

Has anyone experienced this issue? The GPU has no problems on regular x16 PCIe. It as a 250W PSU all to itself, so power shouldn't be an issue.

Oops. It seems that I forgot to set power management to performance. The CPU-clock going way down was the source of my problem.
