usb 2.0 card

I recently purchased a ALI usb 2.0 host controller card from ebay,package conatained a driver cd,and the usb card,i Inserted the card,insatlled the usb 2.0 driver and restarted the computer.Upon reboot it took longer than ususal and my pc was running slow as hell and freezing constantly Im not sure on my pc model but it is a

medion
medion 3000 ver:1 motherboard
geforce fx 5200 nvida graphics card
Running windows xp home edition + service pack 2

The usb 2.0 card is a ALI Model:m5723 a1
PCI usb 2.0 host controller card

Im only 16 and have medium pc knoledge so can u keep it simple please.

Ihave exuasted every thing i know from bios flash updates to installing win xp service pack 2

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

Try a different PCI slot. And give it a few minutes to configure the card after you move it.
