USB 2.0 case with USB 3.0 mobo

Does it make sense to buy a USB 3.0 enabled motherboard and a case that still uses USB 2.0? Should I go for a USB 3.0 case then?

There are yet no motherboards with front USB 3.0 headers on board.. All motherboards provide USB 3.0 connectivity option at their back panel (2 ports being the norm).. So getting a USB 2.0/3.0 front panel chasis does not matters currently.. If you need access to front USB connectors often then going for USB 2.0 front panel cases makes more sense..

i just purchased the Haf X case and it has 3.0 usb at the front.. the work-around (since motherboard are lacking usb 3 headers) is coolermaster routes usb 3.0 cable from the front of the case out thru the back and into the 3.0 usb plugs on the motherboard.

personally, for future-proof i would buy a 3.0 capable motherboard along with sata III ports. granted your case has no usb3 ports, but you can always plug any usb3 device in the future from the back..
