USB 2.0 Flash Drive 8GB PNY Problem

Hello Tom's members, i am the owner of a usb 2.0 flash drive PNY and in the last days i'm facing a problem ,when i plug it in i hear the classic sound but the computer finds the device as unknown and i can't see it at storage units.
I tried to update all the root usb hubs but still finds it as unknown, also i cant see it at BIOS boot devices, also i checked it on my laptop with ubuntu op and still nothing.
So is it totaly dead or something? Or is it anything else that i can do to fix the problem?

Pen drives are throwaway items whose memory chips can suddenly fail without any warning. That's why they should not be used as backup media & certainly not for storage of important data which is not backed up already.

Throw it away & buy a new one. Buy two so you've got a spare.
