USB 2.0 Transfer speed drops

When i move something to my 16GB Maxell USB drive it starts at 180MB/s and stays there couple of seconds then it drops to 8-12MB/s and stays there.

What kind of files? Try one large file, lots of smaller files tend to transfer slower.

I usually move my youtube clips. They are pretty big. I havent tried with small ones yet. I reply later about it.

But still why it drops even when moving one big file. ? 180MB/s to 12MB/s is big difference
