Question USB 3.0 and USB C Ports in Front IO Detecting Devices but no Power

Hi Everyone. I am new to this forum. I just finished my first pc build. I have a Fractal Torrent Case and a ROG Strix x670e-e Gaming Wifi motherboard.

On my case front IO, I have 2x USB 3.0 ports and 1x USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port. Both are wired to the motherboards USB 3.2 Gen 1 header and USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C plugs, respectively.

The USB 3.0 ports on the front IO recognize devices when they are plugged in and appear to be "charging", however, I've tried to charge a keyboard in one of the ports and in 15-20 minutes it didn't charge the battery even 1%. I know these ports are not normally meant to charge, but I thought it would at least deliver some power? Do you know what maybe going on? I've checked my bios settings and all appear to be correct.

Lastly, I've tried to plug in my iPhone 15 (usb c) to the front IO USBc port and it says it doesn't recognize my device (which maybe because of my iphone settings), but I thought this port was suppose to at least charge faster, but I ran into the same situation where it says "charging", but in the 15 minutes it was plugged in I didn't even gain an extra %.

I'm just wondering if my USB ports are faulty or defective? Any advice or ideas on what maybe the issue. Thank you very much!

USB ports are fine. It's your knowledge (actually expectation) that is faulty.

USB 3.0 at most, is able to deliver 900mA (0.9A) at 5V, which translates into 4.5W.

While your MoBo has USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 header, which theoretically can output up to 100W of power, the USB type-C cable on your Torrent case is USB 3.1 Gen 2, which is rated at most to deliver 15W of power.

That being said, i don't think that your KB and iPhone are capable of charging themselves at 4.5W or 15W of power, instead, they need far more. iPhone 15, at minimum, needs 20W to be charged.
And here you have it: hardware is sound but your expectations are faulty.

Btw, i can charge my Samsung Galaxy A52S 5G off from my USB 3.0 port (4.5W), but that would take easy 4-5h before my phone is fully charged. So, i instead use wall charger that delivers 15W of power and gets the job done in ~50mins. Sure, i can buy a fast charger as well (25W one), but i haven't bothered.
