USB 3.0 cable connection

I bought a Fractal Node 304 and I am trying to connect my USB 3.0 cable from that case to the mother board, ASRock micro ATX board (link below). This is for the front USB ports on the case.

In any event, the base of the cable will not seat properly and pops up a little. I don't know if it's the cable or the motherboard, but it just will not stay seated.

Short of sending the motherboard back in or the case for that matter, do you any of you builders out there have some advice for how to keep it seated?

look at the number and pins and holes and make sure it lines up, and it's not that the cable is pulled tight and not too short?
