I just built a desktop PC with Windows 7, clean install and all that. The keyboard and mouse were working just fine prior to installing the drivers. However, when I went to install the drivers included on the motherboard disk, which included a USB 3.0 driver (which I have since confirmed to be the problem by reinstalling windows and installing only that driver). Upon installing the included ASUS USB Driver, all 8 USB ports on the machine stop working with my mouse and keyboard. This INCLUDES the USB 2.0 ports on the back. For some reason, neither device is now being recognized by the machine. Does anyone know how I can correct this while maintaining USB 3.0 functionality, as well as interface with my computer from this point? My only real option right now is to reinstall windows again to clear the driver.
