I'm trying to understand the USB better I'm using it to download the PS4 os to a SSD! https://www.playstation.com/en-us/support/system-updates/ps4/
I'm using the download 900MB available space at the bottom of the page. After I do that I will use it to save family pictures!

On my PC I'm able to format the USB it settings are (file system) default is FAT32 and the (allocation unit size) says 16 kilobytes

My Question:
What is (allocation unit size) do I need to change it?

Available allocation unit size
(8192,16,32,64) kilobytes

Solution
The allocation size is the size of the blocks available for storage. Depending on what kind or reads/writes you do a smaller or bigger block size will benefit you. Typically you use the default as it works in most cases.

The way it works is that if you have a 16KB file it will take up one block on the HDD. If you have a 32KB file it will take two blocks. If you have a 8KB file it will still take one block and a 20KB file will take two blocks.

You do not need to change it for the drive to work properly.
