USB 3.0 flash drive stopped working in 2.0 ports works only in 3.0

I have a lexar 64gb usb 3.0 drive and it has been working fine for 2 months but now it has stopped working in all usb 2.0 ports. I have tried it in at least 5 computers and it will not work in any port that uses usb 2.0. I have a laptop with usb 3.0 on one side and 2.0 on the other and the usb will work fine in the usb 3.0 port but will not work in the 2.0 port. It will not even show in device manager when on 2.0. The usb will light up in the 2.0 but nothing happens.

Things that i have tried to fix it but did not work:
-formatted it at least 20 times in NTFS, exFat, fat32 from the 3.0 port
-formatted it with at least 4 different usb format programs
-putting it in a linux machine but not detected in 2.0
-windows drive errror checking says no errors found.

Any suggestions? Remember that I cannot even see the drive in my computer or device manager when its plugged in a 2.0 port

I think USB 3.0 have more power needs than 2.0 and i think you drive lac of power on USB 2.0

Maybe something got wrong with the USB controller of the lexar 64gb.
Just use it on 3.0 !

I think USB 3.0 have more power needs than 2.0 and i think you drive lac of power on USB 2.0

Maybe something got wrong with the USB controller of the lexar 64gb.
Just use it on 3.0 !

it was working on usb 2.0 before this week and whats the point of having a usb drive if i cant use it in other comps unless they have 3.0 and not many have 3.0 right now x.x

Format the drive to exFAT on a PC using XP. It won't work on any other version of windows, and it's something to do with the power requirements of the card and the power management of USB 3.0. I've had 2 64gb USB drives die on me after putting them in USB 3.0 slots on my Macbook, and wouldn't buy another one- it's almost as cheap to buy a 64Gb SSD drive and put it in a USB 3.0 enclosure, but at least ten times as fast as the same size USB stick.

I have the exact same drive I think. Is it the one with the grey, cheap plastic housing and the transparent, sliding cover? This happened to me today. I use this for work, personal, etc. I've only had the damn thing for 2-3 weeks. Well, I was on a "site" installing some software to various computers when I finally came to this old, though not too slow, WinXP SP3 computer. When I put my drive on the solitary USB 2.0 port on the front of it (that's how old this thing was) XP said that it could not read the drive or something similar to that. I didn't think much of it because I just figured the OS was too old to read such a large drive. Well, when I got back to the office I tried putting it into my computer. Nothing. All that happens is the red light on the top of the flash drive blinks twice then... nothing. I've tried it on 4 other computers so far (all with USB 2.0). A Win8.1 machine, a Win8, a Win7 and a Vista. All of these had only 2.0 ports and none of them detected the drive. However, when I tried it in another 8.1 machine with 3.0 ports it works like usual. Then I tried it on a Server 2012 R2 machine with 3.0 ports and it works on those 3.0s but not on the 2.0s on the same Sever 2012 R2 machine. I have not tried Linux yet but I am almost 100% certain at this point that the drive is defective and just craps out after a certain number of uses.

I'm hoping Amazon will let me exchange it. If anyone else has had this problem, let me know. Thanks.
