Just finished putting my new build together and I'm having some teething troubles.

I have an Asus Z97-A ATX LGA1150 mobo and Aerocool DS 200 case.

The Aerocool DS 200 has 2 x USB 3.0 & 2 x USB 2.0 ports on the front panel.

The USB 2.0 ports are working fine, but if I try to plug a flash drive into either of the USB 3.0 ports I get the following:

I've installed all the drivers that come with the mobo and the USB ports on the back are working.

Any ideas?

Solution
If the back ports work fine then I would suspect that the usb 3.0 ports in the front are defective or the header on the motherboard is defective.

First try unplugging and plugging back in the USB 3.0 header cable, it may just be mildly loose.
If that does not work then you will have to try your motherboard header with a different usb 3.0 ports to figure out if is the board or the ports on the case.

Hello Ekard I have the same problem as you but I not fixed yet
I just bought my new computer with Sabertooth Mark 2 and DS 200 case and USB at top of the case only USB 2.0 work fine but... my top panel USB 3.0 hub won't working
seem it has power but when I connect device like mouse or Bluetooth it keep blink, my mouse always blinking seem like it will be forever 🙁
and I can't control my mouse so I just search for solution till I found this thread

like Boosted1g said for the first time I see I think maybe it because device defective or driver problem
I will try you guys advice tomorrow by try reinsert USB 3.0 cable

Thanks a lot guys :)
I will post result so soon

======= I found solution ========

If you use AeroCool DS200 case you will see USB 3.0 front panel cable have a 2 cable at one is main wire 3.0 and little 2.0 wire when you plug it in plug in only main cable is 3.0 and leave little 2.0 wire hang USB 2.0 wire it not necessary to plug in.

Hi All,
I know this is an old thread but I had the same problem with an Aerocool CS-105 case and ASUS B250M board with win10. I spent hours and hours re-trying drivers etc but front case usb3 absolutely refused to work, anything plugged into it gave the same 'not recognize' error-it drove me nuts! Then I saw Jusocom's post...and his solution worked for me-Thanks!.
Turns out that the USB3.0 front panel cable is a composite-it has a short side lead that is a USB2.0 connection. If you connect both you get the same error as Ekard, connect USB2.0 connection only gives all ports USB2.0 functionality, connect USB3.0 only and both USB2 and USB3 front case ports work as they should.
Sounds really stupid I know but if this post saves someone else the hassle I don't mind looking foolish, especially when I see other threads where they are talking about RMA of cases and boards because of USB3 problems.
