I am thinking about adding a usb 3.0 hub on my computer. Presently, I have 2xUSB 2.0 in the front, and 2xUSB 2.0 + 2xUSB 3.0 in the back. I was thinking of adding a USB 3.0 hub in either my spare 5.25" bay, or a smaller one in my 2.5" bay.
The dilemma: the USB hubs that I have found all require a 20-pin connector, which I do not have free. Does anyone have any suggestions? Are their models that do not require a 20-pin connector? I have read about USB splitters that run a hub off of an existing USB port... would that work without sacrificing the ability of the port? I can imagine having multiple things running through it might slow each port down.
