USB 3.0 Not working

I used to use my USB 3.0 slots (front and back) for a hard drive and phone charger. However now it doesn't seem to recognise anything. There is power getting to the hard drive and the phone is charging but I can't move files. Thanks for any help

PC Specs (If needed): Motherboard MSI z77a g45, windows 8.1 and the hard drive is a portable seagate 1tb

I strongly suggest reinstalling your USB 3.0 drivers in Device Manager.
You should be able to find them under USB controllers. After you've uninstalled each USB driver, reboot your computer and let Windows Updates take care of reinstalling them.
