A row of USB ports on my motherboards rear IO have just randomly stopped working. no power or data, they just dead! i havent done anything that would make me think I broke them, and there is no physical damage.

i checked device manager and under AMD USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller i have an error message --> Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)
as is im left with just 4 usb ports on my computer, as is i only have 1 spare.. im using 1 for mouse, 1 for keyboard, and 1 for mic
i have no idea what i should do and im very prepared to get an rma on the mobo, as i did nothing to break the ports and they have no physical damage

any pointers would be greatly appreciated !!

It may simply be a faulty usb controller on your mainboard and there is nothing you can do about that.

Or - you have connected several devices that draws more current from the usb ports can supply, either one single device alone or maybe all devices together.

Or - Windows may mess up after one of those updates.
