Hello,

I am planning on getting a:

Antec p183 V3 case (USB 3.0 port on the front)

ASUS P8P67 Deluxe motherboard

Now I understand the Deluxe comes with a USB 3.0 box that can also be installed at the front of the case.

So I am assuming this would give me:
2 back USB 3.0 ports
2 front USB 3.0 ports in the additional box
and
1 front USB 3.0 port in the front of the P183 case?

would the ASUS P8P67 deluxe motherboard be able to attach/run this number of USB 3.0 ports?

THANKS A LOT!

No, sorry. You will end up with only 2 USB 3.0 ports on the front. The box plugs into this header on the motherboard

But the case uses the Standard USB 3.0 10-1 pin connector for it's single USB 3.0 port. And the P8P67 Deluxe lacks that header. It has only the 20-1 pin header as above for the included box.

Here is the manual for the case if you want to see

thanks for the quick reply!

thats helpful. I was thinking of dropping down to the P8P67 Pro which comes without the USB 3.0 box and only using the front case USB 3.0 but that then won't work.

Looks ilke my best option is to go with the deluxe and use the USB 3.0 box and forgo the case USB 3.

No, it won't. But if you don't have a need for but one USB 3.0 then there are other make boards. Gigabyte boards have both types of USB 3.0 connectors.

A pretty good option, as it's a nice board.
