Question Usb 3.1 gen 2 converter?

Hello all, and thank you for taking the time to read this. I have been slowly building a pc over the last few months, and I'm now connecting the cables to the mobo and my case came with a USB 3.1 gen 2 cable, but my mono mobo doesn't have a slot for it to connect to. Is there something I can get to convert it to a gen 1? I don't want to have this one thing go to waste.

Tl;Dr any way to convert my USB gen 2 cable to a gen 1 cable?

What your motherboard model?

MSI X370 GAMING PRO CARBON AM4 AMD X370 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard is what I'm putting in it. My fault for not fully researching but I don't know what exactly to ask for.
