I am hunting this hermaphrodite but cornering it has been an exercise in deception and frustration. Marketed USB 3.1 Type-C cables are often described in illusive terms or I receive an item quite different than I ordered. Perhaps I have deceived myself? My Gigabyte Gaming 7 motherboard has a USB 3.1 100 watt Type-C port. My external USB 3.1 (max 3 amp) Blu-ray player needs additional amps to run more smoothly. Is there some reason this coupling cannot or should not be done?

I'll look, but something seems play WRONG if you have a USB BD player that can only work with this connection.

Does it specify it only works with a Type-C port because it needs that much power or does the manual just show a normal USB3.0 connection?

I do realize the minimum spec is only 900mA for USB3.0 but again I'm baffled that someone would build a USB BD device that only works with some hard to find adapter to a Type-C connection.
