Hi,

I recently upgraded to an Asus ROG Strix Z370-E gaming mobo. Sadly, just doesn't come with enough USB 3.X ports in the rear!

Manual specifies that; there are 2 USB 3.1 Gen1, 20-1 pin ports on board. These are (supposedly) to, plug in a cable for extra rear/front USB 3.1 ports.

I am looking for a rear expansion slot, USB 3.1 Gen1 cable/module. Not the USB 3.1 PCI-E cards but, the actual cable that plugs into the board and, routes to a rear expansion bracket (on the case).

I have seen some USB 3.0 adapters like these but, I am looking for USB 3.1 Gen1. Hopefully 2 ports or, more.

See photo below for example...

The manual shows an example of a USB 2.0 10-1 pin adapter. (For reference).

Solution
Usb 3.0 = usb 3.1 gen 1
Usb 3.1 = usb 3.1 gen 2

I know it's confusing but it was their decision to release 3.1 specs like that. So those 3.0 adapters will work at the max speeds your mobo supports.
